Christmas Update

From everyone at Chorley Cricket Club, we would like to wish you Season`s Greetings!

I have a couple of updates for you. Cricket First!

T20 Cup

I`m sure you`ll recall this Summer we won the NPL T20 Cup, and already we have details of next Summers format.

The twelve teams have been regionalised and split into four groups of three in a bid to minimise long trips for players and supporters alike. Our group is Chorley, Leyland and newly promoted Eccleston CC. We have already agreed to play the games as three double headers and our fixtures are below.

Sunday 7th May 11.30am LEYLAND v Chorley

Sunday 4th June 11.30am CHORLEY v Eccleston 3pm CHORLEY v Leyland

Sunday 25th June 3pm ECCLESTON V Chorley

(Hosts in BOLD) The four group winners then advanced to Finals Day at a venue TBC.

National Knockout Competition 2023

We have been given a bye for the preliminary round, and will play either St Helens Town CC or Dalton In Furness at home on April 30th. Should we be successful in that game, a trip to Wallasey waits!

Second Team

There has been a small reorganisation in the Palace Shield where our second team play. We are still in Division 1A but will play with the following teams.

Barrow, Croston, Rufford, Tarleton, Standish, Longridge II, Leyland II, Garstang II, Netherfield II, Fulwood & Broughton II and Westgate CC (based near Lancaster).

Seems odd to be considering Summer cricket after this weeks bitter weather, but it will be here soon enough.

In the mean time, the bar opening hours over Christmas are shown below, the heating will be on and the TV will show all Sky Sports Channels if you fancy a drink, tea or coffee and meeting a few friendly faces over the Winter break.

Finally, Once again thanks from me (Ozz) and the rest of the committee for your support. I hope to see you at the club soon!
